Maija Leivo
Head of Production
Maija has worked with Parallax Film Productions for ten years. During this time she administered all aspects of development, production and post while implementing financing plans for the successful completion of each project. What she loves best about her job is that there is always something new to discover.
Parallax has a unique visual style.
Field crews use and adapt dozens of cameras to capture events. Among our successful experiments are sinking and later retrieving cameras on scuttled vessels, high speed cameras capturing structural implosions at 300+ frames per second and most amazingly, mounting cameras on buildings to capture their implosions. Recently we have created strong visual imagery in post to enhance the information traditionally presented through CGI. The result is a stylistic look that allows seamless transitions within the story.
Our community of viewers also want additional experiences. We are building a strong online presence, allowing our viewers to participate in the worlds we create. This excitement feeds advance interest and builds loyalty to the broadcasters. The broadcasts in turn drive the viewer to seek out more through social networking, gaming and extra content developed specifically for the web.
Parallax is also currently working to finance a Blowdown Giant Screen experience for theatrical release in 2012.
